Binnenhof - Graphelia Castle toward

Netherlands, South Holland, The Hague

Description:

Binnenhof – the so-called complex of buildings and courtyard belonging to the residence of the royal family in the city of The Hague. Binnenhof (or Grafelijk Castle) is also called the Royal Castle itself.

Binnenhof Castle is the most beautiful place in The Hague. It is located on an island in the heart of a very beautiful Waver Lake. It is here, in Binnehof, that the King of the Netherlands opens every session of the Dutch Parliament in the castle of Ryderzaal, that is, here the political life of the country begins. Rideersaal also belongs to the Binnehof Palace Complex.

At first, Binnenhof was a small hunting castle built in the XIII century, and the castle at that time already had a prison, after some time it began to expand and rebuild, and in the XVI century it turned into a royal palace. The entire Binnehof complex is included in the list of the best historical monuments noted by UNESCO and is under its auspices.
