Oud-Wassenaar Castle is located in the province of South Holland. It was built in the 19th century and was the summer residence of William Prinsterer and his wife. William Prinsterer was a Cabinet Secretary and a member of the House of Representatives in the States General of the Netherlands.
The large castle house with towers and a stepped pediment was built in 1876-79 by the architect Muisken K. The castle stands in a beautiful landscaped park.
In 2003-2006 there was a large reconstruction of the castle - many details of the building were updated. Since 2009, Oude-Wassenaar Castle has been protected by the state. In the park near the castle built several houses with luxury apartments.
