About the company:
The Escher Museum is a museum in The Hague, opened on 15 November 2002. The basis of its exposition is the works of the Dutch graphic artist Escher.
The museum is located in the former palace of the XVIII century. Queen Emma acquired it in 1896 as a winter palace and used it from March 1901 until her death in March 1934. The following four Dutch queens used the palace primarily for matters of state.
All the former "royal" rooms on the first and second floor have curtains from the time of Queen Emma. Besides the endless exhibition of Escher’s work, there are two halls dedicated to her.
The museum has a permanent exhibition of a large number of Escher engravings and lithographs, among them - world-famous images of air and water, waterfalls and Italian landscapes. The third floor of the museum is dedicated to the genre of optical illusions, as well as Escher’s travels around the world in a multimedia format.
