Leap to the East: the town of Nijmegen and Dutch wine
Description:
Have you visited Amsterdam and its surroundings? Then it is time to get acquainted with the east of the country. Time to taste the subtleties of the East!
It would seem that the Netherlands is a tiny creation of human hands, and what is the difference between its individual regions? For starters, Nijmegen has hills above sea level + 31.6 m and is famous for its university and international 4-day march in July. We offer you a 3-hour city tour. Nijmegen will conquer you with its history, silence and comfort. This is the oldest city in the country.
But how much more can I offer you if you stay here all day.
First, vineyards and biological Dutch wine. Yes, I know you've tasted Dutch wine on other excursions with our smoked eel. But this wine was grown in the south of the country, and the one I want to introduce you to in Nijmegen is grown in the hills around town. Wine tasting is accompanied by local treats. In any case, wherever the Romans visited, the love of wine and the culture of its production remained in the genotype of the inhabitants of these regions.
If you do not like wine, no problem, then we will taste different beers at the local brewery.
Secondly, if you are traveling with children, there is a wonderful zoo in the vicinity of Nijmegen, where two charming pandas have recently lived. There is also a large playground in the zoo. This option is possible as a replacement for a city tour or instead of a tasting. If you prefer the museum, then the Open Luchtmuseum open-air museum is located nearby, where you can get acquainted with old crafts. In winter, children will learn to knit colorful grandmothers in a cozy old hut, and in the summer you can learn to wash in an old fashion or whip up oil with your own hands. Children are even encouraged to bake a bun at the stake.
Thirdly, Appeltern tuinen Park, open all year round, introduces its visitors to the latest developments in park and garden design.
We will celebrate the end of a busy day with a delicious meal in the most cozy restaurant of Nijmegen. Here you will be pampered with a six-course dinner, and each change of dishes is accompanied by a perfectly matched wine.
Further, if you wish, we either return to Amsterdam or stay overnight in Nijmegen.
