Utrecht is similar to its Dutch neighbors, but has its own uniqueness. With Utrecht’s historical roots, many cities do not stand the competition. Even Amsterdam can’t match the history of the fourth largest city in Holland, approaching the two-thousandth milestone. The first fortress on the territory of modern Utrecht was built in the middle of the I century AD. Today, the Dome Cathedral is located on its territory, its Gothic-style tower still pierces the sky with the highest spire in the Netherlands. The city center has preserved the textbook buildings of the Middle Ages, restored or stylized. They rise above the two-tier canals, through which many bridges are thrown. The city is worthy of attention and I invite you to walk along its quiet, calm streets and embankments.
