Hinderstein Castle
Netherlands, Utrecht, Langbroekerdijk 121.
Description:
Hinderstein is a castle located in the Dutch province of Utrecht, Langbrook. Hinderstein Castle was once the fiefdom of the Utrecht bishopric. It was built presumably in 1300 in the neo-Gothic style. Most likely, the castle was owned by the Valven family.
Initially, the castle was built in the form of a residential tower, but later, new buildings began to be completed to it.
The current owner of the castle acquired it in 1976. After the purchase, he reconstructed the tower and the rest of the castle as they looked before 1865. Also, the new owner restored the garden and zigzag walls surrounding the complex.
The castle is included in the list of monuments of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
