East Coast and Wadi Shab
Description:
Today we are going to take a course on the coast, leading us to one of the most beautiful places in Oman – Wadi Shab. This is a mountain gorge and you can get there only by walking. At the end of the gorge, a surprise awaits us – a unique cave with crystal clear water and a waterfall. On the way to the cave, the view of the gorge changes with each step: caves, farm plantations, rocks and deep pools. After about an hour of walking, we will swim through a narrow slit opening and discover this secret corner – a cave with a waterfall.
After the gorge, we will head to Sur, the city of sailors and shipbuilders, for a short sightseeing tour.
On the way back to Muscat, we expect three more stops:
The ancient city of Kalhat – in ancient times a seaport, famous for its wealth and culture
- The Sink Hole Karst Trench, one of the largest sea trenches in the world, formed millions of years ago as a result of a shift in the Earth’s crust. The depression is filled with sea water and its depth reaches 20 m.
- A unique dam in the mountains of Kuriyat, the capacity of which is 100 million cubic meters of water
