The Ancient City of Ollantaytambo
Description:
The ancient city of Ollantaytambo is the best preserved ancient building of the Inca era. This is the main attraction of the modern city. However, the exact chronology of the ancient settlement is still unknown. Its layout and buildings have often changed, with scientists from around the world putting forward unrealistic or more plausible versions about the time of its formation.
The name of the city from the local dialect translates as “the storehouse of my God”. And this name is not accidental: perhaps it means the unfinished Temple of the Sun, which was worshiped by the Incas, or maybe it is all about the feeling and sensations associated with this place. Looking at the dilapidated walls, at the landscape around you, you get something other than a visual image, something much more valuable - delight, surprise, the desire to come back here again - a piece of something more powerful and even supernatural.
