Birthday of Portuguese bullfighter

Description:

... an amazing combination of sports and art, spectacle and skill.
Every year on August 14, the Portuguese bullfight is celebrated in Abiul, the main event of which is the bullfight itself in ancient national traditions.

Bullfighting is not just a competition, but an amazing combination of sports and art, spectacle and skill, show and sacred action with the participation of desperate daredevils.

Caballero begins the fight, riding a horse, and furkadoush - foot fighters, enter the duel when the bull is already wounded by a farp - a peak with a sharp hook at the end, two centimeters long, which sticks into a subcutaneous fat bag at the bull's withers and gets stuck there. In terms of pain, this is comparable to a needle prick for a person. In past centuries, riders were aristocrats, and furkados – commoners. Since then, the difference in their equipment has remained: the costumes of the “foilers” are much more modest.

From time immemorial in the country there are clear age limits for bullfighters. The younger category is infantish, meaning babies. It includes boys 10 to 14 years old, who fight not with adult bulls, but young bulls. The juveniles group includes children aged 14-18. The main age group is men from 18 to 35 years, although the upper limit is conditional and often exceeded by those who enter the arena in their 40s and 45s.

In bullfighting involved three-four-year-old bulls with a weight of five hundred to six hundred kilograms. Compared to all other bullfights, Portuguese is the least bloody. Bulls, contrary to popular belief, at the end of bullfighting, are not sent to the slaughterhouse, but returned to the pens. On their horns and before training, and before the fight wear special leather covers to soften the blows. They will save the furkadouche if he makes at least one mistake. A fighter requires not only courage, but also impeccable vision, rapid coordination of movements and composure.

The stands around the arena are always crowded - bullfighting is phenomenally popular among the people, especially among girls. They often prefer other entertainment visit to training furkadoush. And to be a friend furkados is the cherished dream of every young Portuguese woman.
