Braga

Square

Municipal Square, 4820-142 Braga, Portugal

Description:

The square of the Episcopal Palace is named after St. Barbara, Santa Barbara Gardens. In the center of the garden is a fountain with a sculpture of the saint, which protects people from storms in the sea, which, incidentally, is very important for Portugal.

The square was created in the middle of the last century and since then admires its beauty of all who have ever seen it. The garden is decorated with many shrubs, which are trimmed in the form of various figures, and the abundance of all kinds of flowering plants in skillful flowerbeds of geometric shape is breathtaking with a variety of colors.

The square is divided into two parts – southern and eastern, the ruins of a medieval arcade serve as a kind of border between them.
