About the company:

The small town of Koviljan, founded in 1186, is famous for its traditions of wool production. Here was the Royal Woolen Factory, and the Wool Museum was opened, which is considered the best in the country.

The history of the wool industry in and around Koviljan began with the opening of the Royal Woolen Factory in 1764. The fact is that it was at the turn of the XVII-XVIII centuries that there was a rapid growth in the production of woollen products, and English workers worked in production.

Gradually, with the growth of exports of English, Dutch and French fabrics, local production almost completely disappeared. But despite this, the factory in Kovillana continued its work, and its products were sold at fairs and were in demand among the common people.

About these and other pages of the history of the wool industry, the exposition of the Wool Museum tells.
