Description:

In the Portuguese city of Sintra there is an amazing place, which travel agencies called the Palace of the Moors. In fact, the fortress of Kashtello dos Moroš preserved thick fortress walls, several buildings of red sandstone and a complex intricate labyrinth of dungeons in which the besieged Moors hid in the IX-X centuries. The fortress rises above the sea, being on the rocky part of the island, and from here there is a magnificent view of the coastline and the island itself.

Castella dos Moroš resembles a fabulous palace, not a defensive fort. Massive walls and jagged towers meander along the shore, resembling a thick snake, behind which there are neat palace buildings. They were partially destroyed in the XII century, when the Scandinavian crusaders drove the defending Moors into the dungeon and wandered there for a long time, trying to deprive the fortress of the last defenders.

After the ruins were empty for a long time, until one of the noble dukes Ferdinand Saxe-Coburg-Gotha turned its picturesque walls and towers into part of the park ensemble. Today, the palace is completely restored and restored, attracting tourists with its mysterious history. The mysterious dungeon of the castle holds many legends. It contained a dungeon and intricate tunnels, in which the last Moor who did not surrender hid.

Inside the fortress there is a garden with golden chrysanthemums. Here, among the greenery of trees and cobblestone pavements, there is a well of pink sandstone, feeding the castle with water.
