If the monastery, on the site of which stands the palace, was not destroyed by an earthquake in 1755.

If only all Portuguese monasteries had not closed in 1834.

If King Manuel I, who became the richest monarch in Europe in the XVI century, had not built the same monastery on Mount Sintra on the site of a small chapel.

So everything was as planned?

Pena Palace was simply obliged to appear in Sintra and please humanity with its splendor?
