Alushta waterfront

The embankment of Alushta is located on the Black Sea coast, has the largest length on the entire Crimean peninsula. Today Alushta embankment is conditionally divided into three zones - central, eastern and western.

Alushta embankment is a place with a very interesting history. Nikolai Dmitrievich Stakheev took an active part in the design and construction of the Alushta embankment, who was one of the most successful Russian merchants, a famous gold miner, a famous philanthropist. He made a significant contribution to the development of Alushta. Largely due to his efforts, the provincial village has turned into a pleasant resort town. Since the end of the XIX century, Alushta and the central embankment have been significantly transformed. Hard times, winter storms, and the Great Patriotic War changed the appearance of the embankment for the worse. The transformation of Alushta embankment began in the late 1940s. In 1952, the embankment was decorated with the famous rotunda, which became the hallmark of the city.Azing difficulties fell to the share of the embankment, but Alushta embankment, 60 years later, acquired its updated “face” in 2011.

In 2013, the so-called Mirror Rotunda appeared on the embankment opposite the rotunda – this is a new tourist object, which is a covered architectural composition made in the form of a gazebo with two “wings”. Near the central embankment is the entrance to the Primorsky Park, which pleases tourists with amazing Crimean flora. Continues the central embankment of the western embankment (the embankment of the Professor's Corner). In February 2012, the embankment of the Professor's Corner was badly damaged after another disaster. On June 1, 2012, the renovated part of the embankment in the Professor’s Corner was opened. This event is timed to coincide with the 110th anniversary of the city. To the east, the central embankment continues its eastern part. As part of the celebration of the 111th anniversary of Alushta, the eastern embankment was solemnly opened on May 31 after reconstruction, which has not been carried out for 30 years.
