Bavlin Museum of Local Lore

In 1996, the museum opened a stationary historical exposition "Bavly - my native land". On the area of 220 m2 there are exhibits, documents reflecting the history, economy, culture and ecology of the region and the city. It is built on the principle of historical, chronological and complex display, which allows you to trace all periods of development of the region and opens with documents telling about its settlement. The feature of the exposition is its multinational character: here are objects characterizing the life of Tatars, Russians, Chuvash, Udmurts. One of the sections of the exposition is devoted to the history of the civil war in the territory of the region, the period of collectivization, the participants of the Great Patriotic War and the Heroes of the Soviet Union. Most of the exposition is devoted to the discoverers of the Bavlin oil, where household items, documents and photographs tell about the work and life of oil workers. The exposition also presents materials about remarkable people, our countrymen: these are famous writers Fanis Yarullin, Musagit Khabibullin, Rafael Mustafin, Yevgeny Samsonov, Rashit Akhmetzyanov. Here you can learn about the sports achievements of the world champion in weightlifting Ivan Stekolnikov and the master of sports, world champion in athletics Vasily Matveev. In the hall “Department of Nature” local flora and fauna are presented.
