Tour of Bogolyubov

Not far from Vladimir is the village of Bogolyubovo. There is an ancient tradition about his appearance. When Prince Andrei Yurievich was returning from Kiev to the Vladimir lands, carrying the icon of the Mother of God, the horses suddenly stood up in this place and refused to move. The prince had to settle down for the night. In a dream, the Mother of God appeared to him and asked him to establish a great city here. Thus appeared Bogolyubovo - the residence of Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky, in which he spent seventeen years.

On the territory of the residence is now located the functioning Holy Bogolyubovskiy convent. There you can visit with our guide and see the stair tower of the palace of Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky - a unique example of civil architecture of the XII century.

And when you overcome the path through the picturesque meadow, you will see an amazing monument of ancient Russian architecture - the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl. Snow-white, slender, it is rightfully considered one of the most beautiful temples of Russia.
