Church of St. Nicholas

Russia, Moscow region, Dmitrov district, Podyachevo village

Description:

The Church of St. Nicholas is an effective Orthodox church located in the village of Podyachevo in the Moscow region on the territory of the Nikolsko-Obolyanov Estate. The first wooden church was built in 1711, seventy years later the stone church of St. Nicholas was laid. There was a cemetery near her. The main shrine was the icon of Saints John the Merciful and Anna, which was granted by Empress Elizabeth Petrovna.

After the October Revolution, the church was closed and looted. In its premises, a dormitory was equipped, and later a workshop, whose production waste was filled with the church cemetery. In 2000, the church was returned to the Orthodox Church in a severely destroyed state, and restoration work is currently underway.
