Lion Bridge in Gatchina
Description:
The name "Lion" he owes stone masks that adorn the castle stones of his three arches. The project was complemented by luxurious sculptures that were not installed due to the tragic death of Emperor Paul I, the owner of the estate. But even without them, the Lion Bridge is a pearl of palace and park architecture of the 19th century.
It suffered during the Great Patriotic War, like the entire ensemble, but was restored in its original form.
