Monument-model "Submarine"

In 2006, the 100th anniversary of the Russian Submarine Fleet and 125 years since the demonstration of the first submarine launched into mass production in Gatchina Lake.

In order to perpetuate the historical fact, to draw attention to the fact that Gatchina is not only the cradle of military aviation, but also the birthplace of a serially created submarine fleet, the Gatchina Maritime Assembly decided to create a model of this historical submarine, which the inventor Stepan Karlovich Dzhevetsky demonstrated to Emperor Alexander III and his wife Empress Maria Feodorovna. NGO “Sevzapspetsavtomatika” implemented this decision. The layout is an exact replica of the historical submarine in life size, but inside it there are no mechanisms.
