Lake Aya

The Altai Mountains are rich in picturesque natural attractions. Before local residents and tourists there are fascinating views that do not leave indifferent any person.

Ai Lake is located near the left bank of the Katun River near the village of Maima. In its shape, the lake resembles a crescent moon. "Ai" is translated from Turkic as "moon". There is a legend: the moon came down to save the inhabitants of the region from the cannibal. She left a dent and a lake formed here. There are recreation centers on Lake Ai. They are full of visitors at any time of the year. In the middle of the lake there is a gazebo of Love - a small island - a favorite place for lovers.

Lake Ai is popular not only for its beauty, but also for the fact that it is located almost at the entrance to the Altai (see above).
