Korbu Falls on Lake Teletskoye
Russia, Gorno-Altaisk, eastern shore of Teletskoye Lake
Description:
The riverbed called the Great Corbu makes its way between cliffs and rocks. It several times picturesquely breaks off from the steeps encountered on the way, falling into the abyss of sparkling streams. This is how its waters reach Lake Teletskoye. Corbu is one of the largest waterfalls, it stretches just 100 m from the mouth of the river.
The stream is thrown down on stone blocks from a height of 12.5 m, which creates a kind of rainbow and iridescent fan from a huge number of splashes. The cascade breaks into ledges, crumbling into sparkling and shimmering jets. The widest flow area is 8 m. At the top it takes its way at an angle of 65 degrees, after which it falls down steeply. At the bottom of the water as if boiling, foaming snow-white combs, the sight is amazing!
You can get to the waterfall by boat or boat, a walking steamer from Artybash. The approaches to the attractions are equipped with stairs and platforms.
