Akkem Breakthrough + Middle Katun

Katun - the main water artery of the Altai Mountains, will amaze you with its beauty and power of rapids. Choosing this route, you will get a lot of impressions and a rush of adrenaline. The rafting takes place in the middle course of the Katun River, which originates from glaciers sliding from the southern slopes of the highest mountain of Siberia - Belukha (4506 m). Almost all the main obstacles are concentrated on this section of the river, such thresholds as the Akkem breakthrough, Ilgumen, Kadrinskaya Pipe, Shabash, Teldekpen and others. Powerful rapids, ever-changing panorama of the picturesque valley of the Katun River, the acuity of sensations, and more - that is what awaits you during this extreme journey.

Attention!!! The tour is held in the border zone and requires registration of passes, so the deadline for accepting applications for participation in the tour is limited: for foreigners, the registration period is at least 60 days. Applications submitted at a late date can be considered individually.

Tour programme:

1 day: Meeting in Gorno-Altaisk, airport (arrival hall)

Accommodation at the tourist base "Estate Kit" in houses, preparation for the tour, obtaining equipment, rest, an evening of acquaintances.

Additional excursions, baths are possible.

Day 2: Start of the tour. Moving (tourbase "Usalba Kit" - Tungur village (auto 450 km, travel time ~ 6-7 hours)

The road itself will bring a lot of impressions. The journey begins along the famous Chuisky tract, then along the Uimonsky one. To get bored and sleep on the bus once, in places the valley narrows, the slopes of the hills become steeper, there are times, the exits of the rocks are visible. Not far from the village of Ust-Kan in the mountainside from the windows of the bus you can see the entrance to the cave. Behind the Kyrlyk Pass stretches the Abai steppe. Pleasure the eye floodplain meadows, the blue of the mountain river Coxa. "Tickles the nerves" of Thunder Pass. Tent camping. Ship assembly.

3 Day: Alloy start. First, Katun flows along the wide Uimon steppe. Below the mouth of the Akkem River begins the Akkem breakthrough with a length of about 5 km, numbering nine powerful drains. Breakthrough thresholds are characterized by large shafts up to 2.5 - 3 meters. After the confluence of the Argut Katun River, it becomes even more powerful, even in the shafts up to 2.5 meters are formed. Overnight at the mouth of the Argut River is an open-air museum created and replenished by tourists.

Day 4: Continue rafting to the mouth of the river B. Yaloman. After a difficult day, quite a calm alloy, simple rapids and sewers. It is a great time to admire the beauty of Altai.

5 Day: Many Shivers with large ramparts, barrels, colorful mountains, a thin thread of the Chui tract, that is what awaits you this day. But, the main obstacles will be: the Ilgumen threshold (IV category) with large ramparts. Kadrin pipe, consisting of alternating individual rapids and a Shiver. Overnight in a picturesque place surrounded by huge pines.

Day 6: Continuation of alloying. Ahead of the Sabbath threshold (IV category), the name of the threshold in itself says a lot. The adrenaline in your veins will be guaranteed. Good opportunity for photo and video recording of the passage. Overnight in the Petroglyph parking lot. For an additional fee, you can order a bath from a local resident.

7 Day: Final rafting day. The river is increasingly slowing down, a good time to admire the beauty of Altai, to photograph and shoot on camera. But do not relax, Katun likes to present surprises. There are still many obstacles ahead: Kayancha thresholds 1, Kayancha 2, Ayala, and of course Teldekpen-I, Teldekpen-II, canyon-type rapids, where the riverbed is narrowed by rocky outlets up to 20-30 meters.

Transfer to the tourist base "Usalba Kit" 90 km. Delivery of equipment. End of tour.
