Actor – Ukok Plateau – Teletskoye Lake
Description:
This trip is one of the most wonderful tours in Altai. Choosing this route, you get a good opportunity to explore almost all natural zones of the Altai: from the Mongolian dry-steppe landscapes of the Kurai basin to the glaciers of the North Chui Ridge. Visit the Ukok plateau is a small plateau lost in the very south of the Altai Mountains, at the junction of the borders of Russia, China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan. Given the outstanding natural characteristics of the plateau, in 1994 it received the status of a resting area, and in 1998 it was included in the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Fund. In the feelings of local residents, the plateau has an aura of sacredness. No wonder the philosopher M. Y. Shishin proposed to perceive the Ukok plateau as the Altar of Eurasia.
The valleys of the Kyzylchin and Chagan-Uzun rivers can rightfully be considered real nature reserves of the modern history of mountains. Behind these places, the sonorous name “Altai Mars” was fixed, and all due to the fact that the rocks of different time epochs are quite well exposed here, which makes it possible to inspect and study them.
Visit the Uchar waterfall, which is located on the Chulcha River, you will see the natural wonder "Stone Mushrooms". A special atmosphere will give the performance of the master of throat singing - narrator-kaichi. Since ancient times, the performance of the heroic epic has been highly revered - a special throat singing, the most common and popular form of which is recognized by the people as "kai".
Take a boat ride along Teletskoye Lake - one of the main decorations, attractions and mysteries of the Altai Mountains. Locals call it Altyn-Kol, which means “Golden Lake”. Not to visit this lake means not to see the Altai Mountains. This route is a great fishing for the gharius.
Movement along the route on auto tours takes place on SUVs UAZ, GAZ, KAMAZ, Ural, designed and equipped for the transportation of people.
We offer two accommodation options under the program: 1) accommodation in tents; 2) accommodation in houses (2-6 people) throughout the route, with the exception of 4 nights in Ukok (accommodation: tents).
