Tour programme:

Day 1: Legends of the Chui Tract.
Meeting of the group in Gorno-Altaisk, acquaintance with the guide.

Today you will find a fascinating excursion "Legendary Chuysky tract" on the main highway of the Altai Mountains. Right from the path opens chic panoramas. It is rich in sights, legends and has a rich ancient history, which our guides will tell you. During the tour, we will climb the Seminsky high mountain pass, where we will see centuries-old cedars, majestic mountains with small snowballs on tops, learn the history of the Altai people’s entry into Russia.

Continuing the tour along the Chui tract, we will climb the serpentine to the Chike-Taman pass with two observation platforms and views of the eastern slopes of the Terektinsky ridge. We will find out where in the past centuries the old wheeled Chuisky tract passed.

Next, we will continue the movement along the picturesque valley of Katun and the “Katun Loop” – a beautiful bend of Katun among the rocks of Small Yaloman. We will see and learn how and when the ancient “Katun Terraces” were formed.

We will walk to the sacred place for the Altaians - the mouth of the Chui River - the meeting place of two large rivers of the Altai Mountains, which, merging, flow for some time with a pronounced color boundary.

Day 2. Space adventure.

Breakfast and back on the road. Today we are waiting for the most remote area of the Altai Republic with exotic landscapes similar to the neighboring territories of Mongolia.

In the Kurai steppe we will stop and enjoy the views of the glaciers of the North Chui Ridge - the largest in Central Asia.

Then we will change transport to off-road and plunge into the atmosphere of space travel in the valley of the Kyzyl-Chin River. In Turkic, this name sounds like “Red Gorge”, and among tourists the valley is known as “Altai Mars”. And indeed, the landscapes of the tract give the impression that you are on another planet.

After lunch, we will admire the beauty of the Blue Lake on the Myona River. Underground springs blur the silt and blue-white clay at the bottom and create bizarre and unique patterns. What drawings will we see today?

Back to the campground, free time.

Day 3. The edge of a thousand lakes.

Today we have to go on an unforgettable journey to one of the most picturesque places of the Altai Republic – the Katu-Yaryk Pass. This is a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the majestic nature of Altai, learn more about its history and culture, as well as enjoy breathtaking views.

Along the way, we will make several stops to admire the beautiful landscapes and take photos.

The first stop is the Red Gate, an artificially cut narrow passage in the rock. This place is a symbol of the Ulagan district and attracts attention with its beauty.

Next, we will go to the alpine lakes of the Ulagan plateau. Here we will see the mysterious Dead Lake, the completely turquoise Uch-Kel, the elongated Uzun-Kel and the Kidelu-Kel lake, which is visible from the highest mountain asphalt pass.

The next stop will be the Pazyryk mounds - an ancient necropolis of the Scythians. You will learn who was buried in these mounds and which of the artifacts found here are exhibited in the Hermitage.

The main impression of the day is two observation decks overlooking the Katu-Yaryk Pass. First we will stop at one of the sites where you can test your courage, standing over the abyss. From here you can see the Kaya-Bazhi waterfall, running underground, and the whole Chulyshman Valley as if in the palm of your hand.

After that, we will go to another observation deck, where from a height you will be impressed by the winding descent from the Katu-Yaryk Pass.

200 km, including 100 km of dirt road.

Day 4. Go home.
Today we are going back on our way. To make the road interesting, we planned to visit several fascinating places: Ilgumensky threshold on the Katun River, Tsaplinsky Bridge; ancient cult complex of the Bronze Age "Inin Steles" or the archaeological complex "Adyr-Kan".

At Seminsky Pass we will make a half-hour stop, during which you can visit the fair of Mongolian goods and souvenirs, buy Altai products: honey, herbal teas, pine nuts.

In the evening, filled with impressions and memories, we will return to Gorno-Altaisk. The planned time of arrival is from 17:00 to 17:30.

Start and finish: Gorno-Altaisk airport.

The route thread: Gorno-Altaisk - Chui tract - Altai Mars - Ulagan tract - Katu-Yaryk pass - Geyser lake - Aktash - Gorno-Altaisk.

Tour format: excursion car tour with radial exits. Walking does not exceed 4 km per day.

The difficulty of the walking part of the tour: moderate. Altitude differences - 100-200 meters, mileage - from 3 to 5 km per day, the nature of the relief - dirt road, trail.

Age restriction: from 5 to 70 years.

Group size: The tour will take place when recruiting a group of 6 people. The maximum number of participants in the group is 18.

Transport: depending on the number of participants - Toyota Alphard | SsangYong Istana | Iveco Daly | Volkswagen Crafter.

The final decision when choosing transport is made upon the formation of a group, usually 5-7 days before the start of the tour.

The length of the motor part of the route: 1050 km, of which 120 km of dirt road.

Food organization: complex breakfasts are included in the tour price. If you have food restrictions, please report them on the questionnaire.

Lunches and dinners will be held in the cafe along the route. The average check in the cafe is 500-600 rubles. In the evening there is an opportunity to cook your own food in the common kitchen of the camp.

Despite the fact that most shops, pharmacies, cafes and retail outlets accept payments through the terminal, we recommend that you have cash with you.

Accommodation: the base price of the tour includes double accommodation, shower and toilet in the room / house.

Three or four-bed accommodation is possible if you are travelling with family or friends.

The village of Aktash, the tourist base "Green Forest" - double accommodation DBL or TWIN. Separately standing houses of rounded cedar: double and single bed, shower, WC, refrigerator, kettle, TV, bedding, set of towels.

The village "Chibit": the tourist base "Start" - double accommodation DBL or TWIN. Separately standing houses: shower, WC, bed with a soft mattress, table, chairs, sofa, set of bed linen and towels, heater, kettle, refrigerator, set of dishes.

Aktash village, tourist base "ALATAU" - double accommodation DBL. Separately standing houses: panoramic windows, double bed with anatomical mattress, refrigerator, hair dryer, bedding, heater, warm floor, shower, WC, sink, kettle, dishes, set of towels.

Bed linen and a small towel are provided. Hair dryer and hygiene kits are not available everywhere.

At all tourist centers there is an opportunity to order a bath: paid on the spot - from 2000 rubles. per hour, at least 2 hours. Bath towels are not available everywhere, we recommend to take with you.
