Chemal kaleidoscope
Description:

Distance of the car: 180 km.
Visit to the operating hydroelectric power station on the Chemal River. You will see the confluence of two rivers – Chemala and Katun. The opening panorama is fascinating: at the bottom, just met with Chemal Katun, boils, and huge sheer cliffs plunge right from under their feet into the sky, this place is called “Sartakpaya Gate”. You will visit the picturesque rocky island “Patmos” in the middle of the Katuni River. On the island there is an Orthodox church, connected to the other shore by an elegant suspension bridge, the temple belongs to the women’s monastery of the Apostle John the Theologian. You will also visit the largest souvenir market.
