About the company:
The history of the Irkutsk theater of the young spectator named after Alexander Vampilov began in 1928, when its predecessor was created. In those years it was called the Theatre of Working Youth. The participants of the theater were young Komsomol activists engaged in amateur art circles, who after a working shift gathered for rehearsal in the park of the Paris Commune.
Thanks to the enthusiasm of the participants of the amateur theater, a year after the formation of the creative association, the team has already toured the cities and villages of Eastern Siberia quite actively. The basis of the repertoire in those years were the works of Russian and foreign classics. In 1931, the youth theater was recognized as a professional, and three years later received a permanent premises, in which it is located today.
Irkutsk Theatre of Young Spectators is an active participant in the creative life of the city, takes part in various festivals and competitions, constantly delights its audience with new productions.
