We will walk along the Upper Embankment and Gagarin Boulevard, you will learn about the architecture of the most iconic buildings and their history. I will tell you what attracted the embankment in the early XX century, how the buildings of power, education and science were built here. You will also see the modern appearance of the boulevard, one of the most beautiful places in Irkutsk!

What you will see on the tour

You will find a story about the Upper Embankment and the Gagarin Boulevard located on it, an overview of the architectural features of buildings and their history. You will learn about what attracted the embankment in the early XX century: the pier, Alexander Garden, the Institute of Noble Maidens, the Red Cross Hospital, the Governor-General’s house, you will see photos of past years. You can also capture the modern appearance of the boulevard, one of the most beautiful places in Irkutsk: Glazkovsky Bridge, the Institute of Rare Metals, the Irkutsk Hotel, numerous monuments. We will definitely take photos in a beautiful part of the boulevard.
