Jeep tour to the north of Baikal

During our tour in February or March 2017, there will be quite "warm" daytime temperatures of up to -10°C and strong ice. This will allow you to see the beauty of the northern part of Lake Baikal, where you can only get from the water. Programme:

1 day. The journey is 5-6 hours

Irkutsk – Ogoi Island – Khuzhir

Arrive in Irkutsk in the morning. Meet our guide. The journey begins! According to the plan, moving from Irkutsk to Olkhon Island is a stronghold of Buryat traditions and shamanism. On the way you will visit the religious and ritual places of local residents, stop at the Buddhist shrine on the island of Ogoi. There is also a stop for lunch in the cafe - Baikal cuisine will be offered for you. In the evening, arrival in the central village of the island - Khuzhir, accommodation at the base.

2 days. The journey is 5-6 hours

Khuzhir – Cape Khoboy – Cape Ryty – weather station “Sunny” – Vozvornaya.

In the morning you will continue your journey north. There are many interesting objects ahead of you. From Khuzhir, the route will follow to the rocks of Sagan-Khushun, where there is a short stop for a photo shoot. Our guide will tell interesting legends about this place. Make no mistake, it's true! The next item of the program is the northern cape of Olkhon Island – Khoboy. And here you will have time to enjoy the beauty of the natural object, take good pictures. Everywhere on the banks there are ice splashes, hummocks. After the stop, we'll continue. Cross the Small Sea and move to the most mysterious and mysterious place on Lake Baikal – Cape Ryty. A huge, treeless pebble massif extends far into the lake. The place is holy. We'll make a stop and go ashore. Further along the way we will pass the weather station "Sunny". Here, employees of the Irkutsk Hydrometeorological Center conduct year-round weather observations. Overnight on this day in the bay of the vortex. In Soviet times, geological expeditions worked here, now there is a complete calm and deserted places.

Cape Kotelnikovsky – Baikal – North Baikalsk

From Zavorotnaya in full begins Northern Baikal. From both banks, the mountains approach close to the lake. Their snow-capped peaks rise with non-criminal bastions, and the clear ice reflects their grandeur in the morning and sunset colors. Silence, sparseness and untouched nature are your companions. In rare places along the shores you can distinguish lonely houses of cordons. Yes, there are still hidden corners of nature and you have the opportunity to visit them! At Cape Kotelnikovskiy there is a short stop and soon you will arrive in Severobaikalsk. It is the only city in the north of Baikal. Although young, it has a rich history. Accommodation for the night in the guest house.

4 days. It's 3-4 hours. Severobaikalsk - Hakus

Breakfast. Today you are crossing the northern basin of Baikal. Great views of the mountains from all sides. And right on the course, at their foot, there is one of the most amazing places - the thermal springs of Hakus. Water temperature in baths up to +47C! On the way to the ice, we will stop for lunch. Upon arrival, accommodation in guest cottages and bathing in springs. Dinner tonight. 5 days. The journey is 6 hours. Hakus are Davsha. After breakfast, we go on the road. From Hakus our course to the south - in P. Davsha. Here is the cordon of the Barguzinsky Reserve, one of the oldest in our country. Picturesque capes and peaks of the Barguzin ridge along the entire path. In the evening, accommodation on the cordon. Visit the museum of the reserve upon request. Recently, the sable population here has recovered and if you are lucky, you can see these animals in the wild.

6 days. On the way - 7-8 hours

Davsha – Snake Bay – Ushkanyi Island

Today is going to be a busy day. After breakfast, we leave for the Chivyrkui Bay. Along the way, we will get acquainted with the features of fishing from under the ice. Lunch on ice in Snake Bay, but before that, a pleasant surprise is swimming in thermal baths. Temperature +40-42 C and wonderful views! In the evening we will arrive on the Ushkany Islands - the protected archipelago of Baikal.

7 days. On the way - 7-8 hours

Ushkanyi Islands - Khuzhir

In the morning on the way to Olkhon. Familiar to you Cape Hoboy will be the main landmark. Lunch on ice. After arriving on the island - accommodation in guest houses. 8 days. It's 5 hours. Khuzhir - Irkutsk. We say goodbye to Baikal and Olkhon Island. We're going to Irkutsk. On the way, lunch with traditional cuisine and arrive in the city. Hotel accommodation.
