Irkutsk reservoir

Irkutsk Reservoir is one of the largest reservoirs in Russia, located 30 kilometers southeast of the city of Irkutsk.

The date of its construction is 1959. It's 65 kilometers long. The area is 154 meters2. The maximum depth is 35 meters, the average is 13.

The reason for the construction of such a large-scale facility was the constant flooding of the center of the Irkutsk region. When the reservoir was built, this problem disappeared, since from now on the runoff was regulated.

Tourists love this place, as the shores are overgrown with a beautiful forest, and the water is crystal clear. Travelers come to the reservoir to fish, relax in nature with family from city life.
