ooh 29A, Irkutsk, Irkutsk region 664035, Russian Federation

Description:

The Intercession Church is an Orthodox temple. It is located on the street of the Workers' Staff in the city of Irkutsk. Previously, the church was a residential house built of stone and belonged to a local merchant Lychagov. The reconstruction of the house began on July 8, 1824. A two-storey papert and a bell tower in the western part of the house were attached to the house, as well as an apse on the eastern side. The walls of the paperti and apse are built of wood and then plastered and whitewashed, making them look like stone. This is the peculiarity of the structure of the Intercession Church, in the combination of brick and wood in the process of construction. These extensions were carried out according to the projects of the Irkutsk architect.

In the fence of the Intercession Church is the burial of the merchant Ponomarev, but the tombstone on the grave was destroyed.

In 1934, the church was closed and transferred to the autobase. Then there were car repair shops.
