The Snow River
Russia, Irkutsk region of Buryatia
Description:
Siberia has long been known for stunning natural beauty: snow-capped mountains, dense forests, emerald glades full of scented and healing herbs, and fast full-flowing rivers carrying their rapid waters along rocky slopes of mountains and rocky plains.
One of these rivers is the Snezhnaya River (in the language of the Buryat people Udulkha, which means "fish"). The most full-flowing and cold river in the Irkutsk region, after all, the temperature of the river does not change! That in the winter cold, that in the summer heat, the waters of the Snow are equally cool, and in the rainy season, which happens abundantly in June-July, the river is painted in the color of milk chocolate, and it is impossible to cope with the violent current at this moment even experienced boaters.
That is why the river is called Snow - it is so cool that even in the warm season in the valley of the river you can see snow. Most of all, this river fascinates with its stunning views and lakes that are found along its banks. They have an amazing warmth.
You can get to the Snezhnaya River from Irkutsk by ordering a trip to the Snezhnaya recreation center, as well as on the tourist route from Baikalsk.
