"Arshan is a healing power."

Description:

The resort village "Arshan"

Rivers rage there, waterfalls rumble,

The springs feed their eternal snow.

And above the clouds rise the great multitudes,

Barely to the waist clothed their taiga...

A.V. Lviv.

So once in the distant 1908, the author of these lines described the Majestic East Sayan Ridge at the foot of which the famous Arshan resort, famous in Buryatia and beyond, located with its healing mineral springs.

"Arshan" - translated from the Buryat language means "healing water". This word comes from the Sanskrit “rashiani” – nectar, the drink of the gods. So called mineral or warm spring, which has a healing value. The attitude towards Arshan in our region is special. Those places where mineral waters come to the surface are considered sacred, shamans build cult “obo” and arrange prayer services.

Prayer land with a unique composition of mineral water truly works wonders. A hopelessly ill person in these parts finds healing.

The village with the same name is located in the foothills of the Eastern Sayans, in the place of exit from the mountain gorge of the Kyngyrga River, which means from the Buryat language “drum”. Rapidly rolling down the gorge from the mountains, Kyngyrga forms on its way a lot of rolls and beautiful waterfalls.

On the territory of the resort village there are two sanatoriums "Arshan" and "Sayana"

The climate of the resort is softened due to the influence of nearby mountains and forests.

The resort is famous for the abundance of sunny days. By the number of hours of sunshine, it surpasses such resorts as Yalta, Kislovodsk, Essentuki. The number of hours of sunshine per year is 2035. In summer, the banks of the Kyngyrgi River become a beach where vacationers take sunbathing.

The main therapeutic factors of the resort are carbon dioxide-sulphate-magnesium low-gland water, similar in composition to Kislovodsk narzan. They have temperatures from + 11 C to + 45 C. Water is rich in trace elements. They are consumed in the form of drinking and bathing. Mineral water comes from the well and is sent to the pump room and the bathroom. Some sources are preserved in their natural form. These include the eye source, which is high in iron. A sacred grove was formed around it, where the locals, in gratitude for the healing, tied many ribbons to the trees.

Arshan waters are used to treat diseases of the cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal tract, liver and biliary tract, metabolic diseases and functional diseases of the nervous system, and treatment gives a very high therapeutic effect. The greatest effect is the use of fresh water.

The resort has become the most popular in the last 10 years. About 56 boarding houses with a total number of seats of about 5 thousand have been built here, a network of guest houses in the private sector is developing. About 900 people live in the village of Arshan, in the summer almost all houses are rented out.

Near the resort there are several attractions, to which tourist and excursion routes are laid. The greatest interest among tourists is caused by trips and walks to the waterfalls of the Kyngyrgi River, to the Crystal Lake, to extinct volcanoes, to the old arshans of Suburg and Papiy Arshan.

The route along the Kyngyrga River makes it possible to admire not high, but very rapid waterfalls, the first waterfall is of greatest interest, as well as the marble bottom of the river itself.

In the village there are 2 datsans, they are receiving llamas, doctors, astrologers.

Arshan is currently the main tourist center of the Tunkin Valley and has all the prospects to become the largest resort in Buryatia. It is often called the “Pearl of Transbaikalia” and “Siberian Switzerland”.

The mountainous landscape, the cleanest air, the measured hum of the fast river Kyngarga, the blue sky are able to restore strength even in one day! Accompanied by our guide, you will be able to learn more about this amazing region and not only about it.
