To the heart of Baikal
Description:
Tour programme:
Day 1.
Food: Independently.
Meeting at the railway station of Irkutsk (9-50 local time). Reference commuter train. The guide's phone will be sent. Departure to Olkhon Island as part of the national team (stop MRS). The road goes along the steppe expanses, where the Baikal mountains are visible in the distance. On the way we will have lunch in the cafe (payment on the spot). Transfer to Olkhon is carried out by public ferry. In case of a huge traffic jam, after moving by ferry, we leave by other transport (usually by UAZ). The transition through the ferry each participant carries out with their own and group things independently. Accommodation at the recreation center of economy class (convenience on the street). Today we need to put the necessary things in sealers, and leave the rest at the base. Dinner at the base or cafe on your own.
Note: In the event of a delay for any reason, tourists independently catch up with the group.
Day 2.
Meals: Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner.
Early breakfast. A tour of Olkhon Island. Breakfast and go to the mysterious and mystical Cape Hoboy. A delicious lunch in the fresh air! We will see - Sandy Tract, Three Brothers Rock, Lake Baikal, Cape Khoboy. Great shots guaranteed. Moving ashore. Collection of kayaks and safety. If there is time and good weather, we swim and relax. Tent accommodation. Dinner on the beach.
Cape Khoboy (in Buryat Khoboy - "fang, molar tooth") - the northernmost cape on the island of Olkhon. Spectacular columnar rock, resembling an externally sharp fang, from the sea, has a pronounced similarity with the profile of a woman's head with a bust, as in ancient Greek galleys from the east and west.
The village (formerly ulus) Khuzhir is located next to the famous Cape Burkhan, immediately behind it is a magnificent sandy beach. A wonderful place to relax in the heart of Lake Baikal on the island of Olkhon, which has long been revered and considered sacred.
Our company, one of the few that offers alloys on Baikal, it is so interesting that many with us passed half of Lake Baikal. No special training is required, available if you have never tried. Since the tour is active, do not forget that a little physical preparation should be present. Enough 3-4 months before the tour (1-2 times a week) to visit the fitness hall. Total rafting time is 6-10 hours for all days. Depends on the weather.
Attention! Cooking food from the water of Lake Baikal. We recommend taking bottled water with you if you do not like tea made from Baikal.
Day 3.
Meals: Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner.
Breakfast is early. Kayaking on the Small Sea. (During strong winds or waves, no alloying is carried out) From us, very close to the island of Olkhon, with grottoes, caves, rocks and bizarre shores, and on the other hand the Small Sea with islands. We will visit the island (depending on the weather) on kayaks with grottoes, walk near the rocks like the Argonauts. Lunch on the beach. There is practically no forest on Olkhon on this side, all food is cooked on gas. Alloy to Scenic Bay.
Note: In case of poor physical fitness of the group or bad weather, the guide has the right to shorten the route. According to statistics in recent years, all participants passed it ahead of schedule. Alloy only in good weather!
Day 4.
Meals: Breakfast. Lunch.
Breakfast is early. At dawn, the continuation of kayaking along the picturesque shore of Olkhon Island to Shamanka Rock. Bizarre sandy shores and high cliffs with different shades. Lunch. We swim in Baikal on the sandy shore. Rest. Overnight in tents or possibly at a recreation center (at a good group pace). The sunset is spectacular! Many participants say that it was on the raft that they felt Baikal, its beauty, power and uniqueness.
Shamanka Rock - since ancient times this rock is considered a sacred place, covered with secrets and legends. In the rock there is a through cave. It is believed that women and children (as especially sensitive to external influences) can not enter such a cave, as it can adversely affect their physical and mental health. It was also previously believed that the cave (its aura) adversely affects the ability of a woman to bear a child.
The cave, which since ancient times was used as a place for various cults, is still revered among the local Buryat peoples. And to this day, its mystery haunts scientists and researchers from around the world, despite the fact that the cave has been repeatedly subjected to detailed study and excavations.
Day 5.
Meals: Breakfast.
Breakfast (a spare half day in case of bad weather). Free time. Lunch yourself in any cafe (try the local cuisine or dine with a view of Baikal). Experience shows that hiking food is a little boring. You can arrange a feast in good company on the base with the preparation of barbecue, but it is already organized independently. We advise you to visit early in the morning and at sunset Shamanka rock. You can go to the Revyakin Museum. After lunch, you can take your bikes. We take them for the day. Now moving around Olkhon will be much faster. You can meet the dawn and see off the sunset and return to the base. We ride without a guide on our own! Dinner by yourself in any cafe in the village. There is a rather fashionable place at the pier.
Day 6.
Meals: Breakfast.
Breakfast. Before lunch, you can still ride bicycles along the picturesque shores of Baikal. You choose your own route depending on your ability to ride bicycles. Someone can ride to the local beach, and someone will ride along the coast beyond the village. There is a route through the forest to the source or to the observation point. You need to get a phone with a good camera! Lunch alone in any cafe in the village. For those who do not like bicycles - rest on the beach "Saray Bay" or you can buy an additional excursion from the administrator of the base or ride horses, mopeds, etc. Just write to the guide, and he will try to organize you new adventures. Dinner by yourself. We'll sleep at the campground.
Day 7.
Meals: Breakfast.
Early breakfast. Excursions to choose from for an additional fee. Sacred island or the South of Olkhon, a ride on horses, and we offer for those who want an excursion to the Cave. Teams are teams. You can buy them from a guide within the first 5 days.
The caves are closer to lunchtime. Issued waterproof costumes, helmets, flashlights. Be sure to take warm clothes, water, snack. Return to the recreation center in 4-5 hours. Rest. Lunch and dinner on your own (possibly in a cafe overlooking the sunset). You can have dinner in a cafe or at the base by pre-ordering.
