Tour programme

Day 1.

Food: Independently.

Meet me at the airport. Irkutsk near the background at 10.00 hours (please schedule your arrival in advance). Get on the bus and immediately start a small sightseeing tour of the city. The city was founded in 1661. Here is what the Russian ambassador Nikolai Spafariy wrote in 1675 - "Ostrog Irkutsk ... the structure is green good, and residential Cossack and Posad yards with 40 or more, and the place is the most cereal." Today Irkutsk is the fifth largest city in Siberia. After exploring the city, we move to the village of Listvyanka, where the Angara River originates. Visit to the Limnological Museum, nerpinaria. Amazing museum with the best exhibits and 11 aquariums. You will learn why Baikal is so clean, what mysteries it hides in itself, who lives in this unique lake. In your free time, visit the Baikal fish market. We advise you to try omul hot smoking! After lunch (at our own expense) we return to Irkutsk, stay in a hotel and relax (hotels: Irkutsk, Europe, Mayachok, Empire, Zvezda, etc.). Dinner on your own at a hotel or any cafe in Irkutsk. Rest, walk around the city on your own.

Note: In the event of a delay for any reason, tourists independently catch up with the group. We recommend arriving the day before the tour begins!

Day 2.

Meals: Breakfast.

Breakfast at the hotel. Today is a free day of stay in Irkutsk. We offer several excursions to choose from, which are desirable to purchase when buying a tour: Excursion on the Circum-Baikal Railway (beginning from 7.00 hours to 21.00 hours (exact time in the ticket). The tour is interesting because the road runs along steep cliffs that descend directly to the lake. The Baikal Railway is considered unique and is a historical and cultural complex. You will see tunnels, stone galleries, bridges and viaducts. And all this for 85 km! (the place of gathering the group in the ticket or tour voucher). We can offer a water excursion to Peschanaya Bay. The tour is carried out only on Baikal, it will be almost impossible to get there on your own. You will see unique natural monuments, rocks, sandy beach and stilt trees. And another no less interesting car tour to the Tunkinsk valley, where you will open in the south of Baikal massif Big Eastern Sayan. All excursions end in the evening, returning to Irkutsk.

Day 3.

Meals: Breakfast.

Early breakfast and move (approximately from 8-30 to 17 hours) as part of the team to Olkhon Island in Khuzhir p. along a picturesque route, markedly different from the road to Listvyanka p. (accompaniment from 6 people). The steppe landscape already prevails here and in the distance to the right and left in motion the mountains behind which Baikal is located will be visible. At the stop on the road, we dine in a roadside cafe, here you can try the national dish buuse (payment at your own expense). We approach Baikal (Small Sea Strait) and move by ferry. Olkhon Gate will open the eastern side of Baikal to you. We drive about 30 km on the island of Olkhon along the country road to Khuzhir p. There are no asphalted!! Here we settle in a tourist base. Accommodation in rooms from the selected option (in hotels / bases Olkhon, Olkhon Inn, Flagman, Tengari, etc.). A short walk - acquaintance with the village and the famous sacred place of Shamanka. Dinner by yourself in the cafe of the village. We advise you to try bouzas, hushurs, bovas, boughlers, etc., or just have a picnic on the shore.

Day 4.

Meals: Breakfast. Lunch.

The length of Olkhon Island is 80 km and today we have a trip to its north. After breakfast, we are going to the camp (to take warmer clothes and a bottle of water with you) approximately at the 10th hour we leave for Cape Khoboy (trip duration from 5 to 6 hours). Entering the Baikal National Park, we show a permit (will be issued to the driver in advance). On the way, visit the legendary rock “Three Brothers” and the romantic Cape of Love. From the northern point of the island there is a view of both banks of Baikal. Oboj in translation means "fang". There is a certain energy at the cape, so it serves as a place of meditation for various theological schools. In these places it is not recommended to get angry, shout and swear. Attention! Trip survey on the island of Olkhon and is carried out on cars of class UAZ, group teams. Lunch at the cape (included in the price), rest and return to the base for about 17 hours. Dinner by yourself. Try the local cuisine in different cafes. If you are planning additional excursions for tomorrow, prepare yourself (water or snack, if meals are not planned).

Day 5.

Meals: Breakfast.

Breakfast at the campground. Rest on Lake Baikal or excursions to choose from (check with the accompanying or when buying a tour). We recommend you to visit the island of Ogoi, go to the South of Lake Baikal, ride a ship in the evening, walk along the ecological trail in the Sarai Bay. The Buddhist Stupa is a building that has a cult significance and means in translation “support for offerings”. Ogoi Island is chosen for the Stupa as an ideal place where the opposition of the four elements is most pronounced: fire, whose functions are performed by the sun, water, earth and wind. Don’t forget to buy souvenirs and take a photo. Meals on their own, try the local cuisine in different cafes.

Day 6.

Meals: Breakfast.

After breakfast we will return to the mainland. Today it is advisable to get up early at dawn and go to Baikal, make all your cherished desires. Farewell to Baikal! Departure from Olkhon Island as part of the national team from 9 hours to 10.30 hours. Let's go back to G. Irkutsk is the same road, we stop on the way, have lunch on our own and come to the city about 17 hours. We stay in a hotel, rest. You have a little more time to visit the Siberian town, walk the streets, walk along the embankment of the Angara River. We recommend you to visit the 130th quarter and see with your own eyes the reconstruction of ancient houses of merchants and artisans, try the kitchen in restaurants.

In addition: For those who have opted for a tour to Mongolia, take the train in the evening instead of accommodation.

Day 7.

Meals: Breakfast.

Completion of programs. Breakfast at the hotel and self-transfer to the airport or railway station (you can order a taxi from the hotel administrator). See you soon! Departure or departure by train.
