Lena rafting

Description:

The usual Russian-speaking name "Lena" has nothing to do with the female name - it is only a derivative of the Evenki word of the Tunguso-Manchurian language group "Elyu-Ene", which translates as "Big River". On the slopes of the Baikal Mountains, a giant necklace covering the mirror surface of Lake Baikal from the west, a small mountain stream begins. The more it moves away from its cradle, the wider it becomes. And finally, it turns into a mighty full-flowing river - Lena. Our route runs in the upper reaches of Lena. The width of the river ranges from 15 to 35 m, the flow speed is 7 - 10 km / h. Thresholds, sewers and clamps replace each other, there are 2 small waterfalls. All obstacles are easily overcome under the guidance of experienced guides. Incredible beauty, river riches attract tourists, fishermen. Almost the entire rafting route passes through the territory of the Baikal-Lena reserve.
