About the company:
The history of the circus in Kazan began more than 100 years ago - in 1890, when the first stationary circus was built here. Its creators were the famous Nikitina brothers, who are considered the founders of the national Russian circus. The first building was wooden and was located on the Bath Lake. It existed for about forty years, and in 1924 the Kazan circus was granted the status of a state circus.
In 1928, construction of a new building began on the site of the old Nikitin circus. As before, it was made of wood. A few years later, the building was reconstructed and became suitable for performances in the cold season. It lasted until the early 60s and was closed due to the emergency condition of the building, and after a while a fire destroyed the building of the old Kazan circus.
From that moment, the new history of the Kazan State Circus began. Since 1967, the grand opening of a unique building in the form of a “flying saucer” took place. The new Kazan circus immediately received the characterization of the "building of the XXI century" - after all, at that time, there were almost no analogues in the world. Nowadays, the unusual space silhouette of the Kazan Circus is an integral part of the urban landscape.
