Elabuga is one of the best preserved small and medium historical cities in Russia.
Every year in August, the Spassky Fair takes place here, the roots of which begin in the 19th century. The fair presents only handmade craftsmen from different parts of Russia. In addition, the fair attracts tourists with performances of folklore groups, circus performers and puppeteers, as well as phaeton riding in the old quarters of the city.
You will also be interested in the Festival of Bell Ringing: for example, in 2007 the administration of the Yelabuga district purchased 12 bells and a mobile belfry for the Spasskaya Cathedral in the city. From now on, during 3 festival days, residents of Elabuga and guests of the city can enjoy the bell chime.

1.Devil settlement is the only remnants of the ancient city that survived from the time of ancient Volga Bulgaria. There are preserved ramparts and ditches, but the main attraction of the settlement is the ruins of the Cathedral mosque built in the 11th century. The mosque itself remained only at the foundation level, but there were five fortress towers around it. One of them survived completely - the tower of the Devil's settlement - the most beautiful and memorable place of Elabuga.
Interesting examples of wooden architecture in the suburbs of the county city. Also among the most memorable buildings of Elabuga is a wooden fire tower (on a stone base). The churches of Elabuga deserve attention, for example, the Cathedral in the name of the Savior of the Unmade Image, consecrated in 1821.
2.The house of memory of Tsvetaeva is one of the most prominent figures in the literature of the Silver Age, she was evacuated to Elabuga in August 1941. In the city she lived only 11 days and on August 31, unable to withstand life circumstances, committed suicide. Here is the cultural center of her name.
3. The Shishkin Museum includes a house-museum, an art gallery and a monument, which are located in the most picturesque place of the district Elabuga - on the street Naberezhnaya on the Shishikin ponds. The art gallery presents one of the largest collections of the artist.
4. The historical center of Elabuga is an ensemble of a county city in Russia, characterized by amazing integrity and preservation.
