Museum-diorama "Vyatka, 1917" was opened in December 1977 - to the 60th anniversary of the October Revolution. Since 1998 - Museum and exhibition center "Diorama".
Work on the creation of the architectural and artistic image of Diorama was carried out by sculptors and masters of battle painting of the studio of military artists named after M.B. Grekov. The authors of the diorama - Honored Worker of Arts of the RSFSR A.I. Intezarov and N.N. Solomin - now the People's Artist of Russia.
The center of Kirov Diorama is a large-scale three-dimensional canvas with an area of 280 square meters. In terms of performance and content, it is recognized as one of the best in Russia. The Diorama building was built specifically for the placement of this work of art, its shape resembles an unfolded banner.
The exposition “History of Vyatka in events and persons” tells about the pre-revolutionary Vyatka, about the life of merchants and traditions of the provincial provincial city.
In the IEC "Diorama" there is a Children's Center. The center is a kind of laboratory of museum pedagogy, where excursions and classes are focused on all age groups - from the youngest to graduate students and students. They are built taking into account the content of school programs and perfectly complement the courses on nature science, history, geography, literature and local history, and recreational programs allow you to make children's leisure more interesting and cognitive.
