Podosinovsk Museum of Local History

The beginning of the collection was made up of items collected by the regional museum on a voluntary basis in the 70s of the last century. On January 1, 1990, the Podosinov Museum of Local Lore was formed - a branch of the Kirov State United Historical, Architectural and Literary Museum, on March 20, 1991 a permanent exhibition was opened.

At the end of 1997, the museum became an independent cultural institution of the administration of the Podosinovsky district, on December 29, 2001 it was registered as a legal entity. Thirteen museum collections have a little more than 6 thousand items of the main fund, including household items and ethnography, tools, devices for wood processing, hand weaving, pottery, bondar and pimocat production of the XIX-XX centuries. Since May 16, 2008, the Podosinovsky Society for the Study of the Native Land has been functioning at the museum. Since 1996, local history readings, district conferences of schoolchildren in local history, competitions “Child glorification”, “Homelands of origins” have been held annually. Research excursions and expeditions along ancient trade routes in the Russian North are organized. Permanent exhibitions are open for visitors: in the main building of the museum - the settlement of the region, a peasant hut, flax processing, a hall of memory, the history of the churches of the Podosinovsky district; in the house of N.V. Otrokov, a Zemstvo doctor, Hero of Labor - on the history of medicine; in the model of the barque "Yakov Gribanov" - on the history of the Podosinovskaya pier, communication routes in the Russian North and river shipbuilding.
