Kolomna

Road to the temple

Description:

I offer you an interesting tourist route with a talking name - "Road to the temple".

Kolomna district, like the city itself, is rich in Orthodox churches. This is not surprising, because for our people this is not only the focus of faith, but also their soul. This route will be interesting not only for pilgrims, but also for people who are not indifferent to Orthodox art. In Russia, there are no two similar temples – each is individual. The beauty of the temple was proud of its neighbors. They always chose the most beautiful places for them, and to see it for many miles. Here with such a temple, like a huge bird hovering at the entrance to Kolomna - the temple of Archangel Michael - we will begin our route, which will then lead us to the left bank of the Kolomenka River. Here, in Zaprudnaya Sloboda, in the 18th century, the Borisogleb temple appeared in stone, which will attract our attention. After getting acquainted with this temple, we will continue our way to the most ancient temple of the Moscow region - the Conception of John the Baptist (14th century). The history of this temple and its unusual facade bas-relief - "Baty seal" - resulted in one of the urban legends. After getting acquainted with the temple and its history, we will continue our way to the village of Andreevskoe, where we will see the 18th century church built in honor of the Assumption of the Most Holy Mother of God, built at the expense of the daughter of the richest Kolomna merchant Meshchaninov. Tradition connects the structure of the Assumption Church with the name of Blessed Danilushka - it is believed that the wooden iconostasis of the temple was built with funds collected by the blessed. Not far from the temple in 2005, a holy spring was restored in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. After visiting the source, our further path will lie to the final point of our excursion - to the 16th century church dedicated to the icon of the Kazan Mother of God in the village of Bogdanovka, and its courtyard - the holy source "Indrinkable Chalice". This source has been known since the 18th century and is revered as miraculous - many received healing and help from it. Among the beauties of Russia, the springs are in the first row and are especially revered. Inexplicable, sometimes instantaneous healing of people in the sources convinced them that the grace-filled power of these shrines is not imaginary. Our spring is located about 500 m from the temple, and the way to it passes through the forest path – the most beautiful place. In 2010, a wooden chapel in the name of the icon of the Mother of God “Inexhaustible Chalice” and a bath were built at the source by the architect O. B. Burlakova. After worshiping the icon, having collected holy water from the spring, you can comfortably sit under an equipped canopy, where, according to the tradition of this place, by the efforts of mothers and parishioners of the temple, everyone can drink tea from a samovar infused with local fragrant herbs for free. Having received a lot of positive emotions, we will leave this blessed place with a calm heart, but only in order to return here more than once!
