Kolomna Posad
Description:
On the territory of Kolomna Posad, many temples have been preserved, as well as civil buildings of the XVIII - XIX centuries. At this time, Kolomna flourished as a trading and merchant city. Kolomensky Posad consists of several streets - settlements that diverged from the Kremlin in different directions, like rays from the sun, and a huge shopping area, which was called Zhitnaya. Now in its place there is a square named after test pilot V. Zaitsev. The fact that it was indeed once a large shopping area is reminiscent of fragments of the preserved shopping area, as well as the recently installed Russian roller coaster and swing. One of the most famous streets of Posada is Arbatskaya. Walking through it, you can find out what wonderful people have ever lived on it: almost every house has a memorial plaque. There is also the Old Believer Church of Nikola-on-Posad. A little further, on the Pokrovsky Sloboda there is a beautiful Pokrovsky temple with a recovering English, or, as it was also called, a landscape garden, where rare varieties of apple trees have already been planted. Of the temples of interest are the temple of the Great Martyr Nikita, which is associated with the childhood and youth of the famous writer Gilyarov-Platonov, as well as the Church of the Epiphany in Gonchary, which operated even in the Soviet years. On the streets of Kolomna Posad walked Anna Akhmatova, Boris Pilnyak, Marina Tsvetaeva and many other writers, poets, musicians who visited Kolomna. In Kolomna Posad is special - it is the best in its safety among other medieval suburban cities and has survived to our days almost unchanged. Its history dates back more than nine centuries, although the Posad as we know it today appeared after 1775, when the General Regulations were drawn up, according to which it was redesigned after the terrible fire that occurred a year earlier. Then 9/10 of Kolomna’s buildings were destroyed by fire.
