Cherkizovo village and Shkin village - architectural treasures in Kolomna outback

Description:

This excursion will take you to the village of Cherkizovo near Kolomna, where the temple and wing of the once existing estate of the Cherkasy princes are preserved. Particular attention is drawn to the Bazhenov temple on the churchyard of Starka, which rises on the banks of the Moscow River, as a fabulous structure testifying to the imagination of its creator. In 1892, this estate will acquire from the last princes of Cherkasy Vasily Dmitrievich Shervinsky - a famous doctor, the founder of endocrinology in Russia. In the Shervinsky estate, a circle of pre-revolutionary aristocratic intelligentsia gathered, and then the advanced part of gifted, creative people of the new Russia. Visiting the Shervinskys in Starki were Boris Pasternak, Marina Tsvetaeva, Anna Akhmatova, Valery Bryusov, Mikhail Lozinsky and other prominent figures of our culture. You will get acquainted with the history of the village and its sights, walk the “Akhmatov Trail”, admire the natural landscapes of this unusually expressive place, visit the local museum of “folk crafts”. Next, you will visit another wonderful place called the village of Shkin, where on the high bank of the Severka River, there is an "improved copy" of the Trinity Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky Lavra - the rural Holy Spirit Church. At the walls of the temple is the grave of the venerable saint-Blessed Danilushka, who played not the last role in the construction and decoration of this temple.

This tour is designed for 3-4 hours for those who love the Kolomna region and want to get acquainted with it in detail and closer.
