Kolomna

Bicycle tours in Kolomna

Description:

We offer you the following bicycle routes:

1. Column in apples: famous gardens and their owners

Since the XIV century, gardening traditions have developed in Kolomna. The most famous were the gardens of Vladimir Staritsky, brother of John IV the Terrible, in the XVI centuries, Kolomensky bishop in the XVII century, merchants Meshchaninov and Lozhechnikov in the XVIII century. The historian N.M. Karamzin wrote about the fame of the fruits harvested in the city: “Kolomna is also famous for apples, cherries and other fruits; we eat them in Moscow.” It is from these fruits that the residents learned to make the best sugar posture (yes, it is Postyla - the name of the product was given by the cooking technology: "to put and dry fruit puree").

The perfect completion of the bike ride will be a tea party on the veranda of the picturesque garden of the confection and pastile factory of the merchant P.K. Chuprikov.

2. In Lazhechnikov's homeland

Cities, like people, have a soul and Kolomna is no exception.

The image of provincial Kolomna, so colorful and controversial, Kolomna pastile, traditions and life of merchants – all this was introduced to us by Ivan Ivanovich Lazhechnikov, a Russian writer, a native of our city. We offer to look at such familiar views of ancient Kolomna with the eyes of this wonderful novelist and discover something new and amazing, unfamiliar to the usual image of the city.
