Mother of God-Christmas Bobrenev Monastery

Moscow region, Kolomna district, the village of Old Bobrenevo.

Description:

The double name of the Bobrenev Mother of God-Christmas Monastery was received in honor of the Nativity of the Virgin, in September 1380, when the victory over the Mongol Tatars was won. In 1790, on the site where the dilapidated temple was located, a new church was erected with additional buildings adjacent to it. And already in 1800 the Bobrenev Monastery was united with the Troitsk-Novo-Golutvinsky Monastery. But after half a century, Bobrenev again becomes independent. It continues to grow and become a hospital for local residents.

At the beginning of the XX century, the monastery opened a parish school. But after 25-30 years the monastery is closed and is in desolation and ruin. Since then, almost nothing has survived.

But in 1991 the temple was almost completely restored. And after half a year he resumed the Divine Liturgy.

At the moment there are 2 temples in the monastery. Work is also underway to restore the monastery.
