Prusa Manor
Moscow region, Kolomna district, Prussy village
Description:
The estate of Prusy is located in the Kolomna district of the Moscow region. The history of the name is not exactly known, there is an assumption that earlier this estate was owned by a foreigner, from whom the name came. Boyarin I.V. Sheremetev was the owner of the village of Prusy in the time of Ivan the Terrible. It is believed that under him the Ilyinskaya church was built, first mentioned in written sources in 1578. After I.V. Sheremetev, the estate was owned by a bishop who built a country cottage here.
Stone Ilyinskaya Church is an example of tent architecture. It is believed that the prototype of this temple is the tent church of the Assumption of the Most Holy Mother of God built in 1552, located on the territory of the Assumption Brusensky convent in Kolomna. In the 1660s and in the XIX century, the Ilyinsk Church in Prusy was remade, a wooden bell tower and a refectory were added to it, which have not survived to our days. The octagonal tent of the church, which relied directly on the main volume of the temple, did not survive, without an intermediate eight, which is atypical for tent architecture.
In 1930, the temple was closed, it was returned to believers in the 1990s. The temple is currently in a neglected state.
