Museum of Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Combine

The Metallurgical Combine Museum was opened in 1973. Its exposition is located in the Magnitogorsk House of Defense, and quite often you can hear the second name of the museum - "museum of military equipment." On the territory of the museum, you can find various samples of military equipment, but the main exposition is devoted to the history of the development of the metallurgical plant - the largest in its industry enterprise in Russia.

In the exposition, visitors can see all stages of formation of the enterprise, ranging from modest tents of builders to modern high-tech workshops. Among the exhibits are numerous miniature models of production units, valuable archives of documents and photographs, as well as many other interesting exhibits. This is a unique exhibition, because many objects cannot be seen in any other museum. Special attention should be paid to the panorama of the plant, which presents all structural units of the enterprise, located not only within the city, but also in its vicinity.

In the structure of the museum of the metallurgical plant there are two branches. The first branch was opened in 1992 in one of the schools of Magnitogorsk, the collection of exhibits for which was engaged almost all employees of the head museum. Three years later, in the year of the 90th anniversary of the legendary director of the plant G.I. Nosov, a memorial museum "Working Cabinet" was opened in his house.
