About the company:
" . The Council of Ministers of the USSR, having considered the report of the builders of new buildings of the University and the conclusion of the government commission, established that the task of the government for the construction and commissioning of the main buildings and structures of the University on the Lenin Hills was fulfilled! The Council of Ministers of the USSR decided to open new buildings of Moscow State University on September 1, 1953. These words marked the opening of the temple of Russian science - the Main Building of Moscow State University on Sparrow Hills and the beginning of classes in it on September 1, 1953. The project of the State Law of Moscow State University was created by the architect - Rudnev Lev Vladimirovich, among whose works - the Frunze Military Academy Building, a large number of projects to restore cities destroyed after the Great Patriotic War (Voronezh, Stalingrad, Riga). However, the Main Building is truly a masterpiece of Rudnev’s work, the main purpose of which in the design of the building was a harmonious combination of the future structure with the surrounding natural environment. In May 1949, on the site of the village of Vorobyevo, on the right bank of the Moscow River, the main work on the construction of the main building of the University began: a boxed foundation was laid. For the first time, a type of foundation is used here, which ensures the minimum possible draught of the building through the concrete of slabs and foundation walls fastened with reinforcement. The construction of this part of the building was completed after 5 months. During the construction of the building building, steel vertical columns were used, the so-called cross columns, first used in the construction of the University and characterized by special strength, and horizontal beams-rails. Large concrete slabs weighing about 1.5 tons, manufactured in concrete factories, are ready-made ceilings of student rooms in the hostel of the State Duma. During the construction period, several railway lines were built on the territory of the University on the Sparrow Hills, through which construction materials and parts for the building from all corners of our country were supplied to the warehouse for construction. The main building has 34 floors and a spire. The building has three faculties: geological, mechanical-mathematical, geographical and rectorate. On the 29th floor there is a museum of land history, from which you can climb by elevator to the 32nd floor, which houses a meeting room. On the 33rd floor there is a gallery under the dome, and the 30th, 31st and 34th floors are technical. The main building of MSU throughout its history keeps many mysteries and legends. One of the curious stories associated with the construction of the state law is the following: "When the plan of the state law was brought to Stalin for approval, he, not wanting to spoil the project, but also unable to refuse to make personal adjustments, pointed to the alleys around the building. "Which Darevya Vi are you going to plant here?" the chief asked. Caught by surprise, the architects responded evasively. “Wouldn’t Pacham plant an apple tree here?” the famous Stalinist pipe strolled along the layout. Everyone immediately admired the genius of the great teacher and planted along the alleys of an apple tree, from which still sometimes students will pick an apple or two. The most mysterious legends associated with the GZ, perhaps, are versions of the passage directly under the building of the metro line, the so-called Express Metro, from the Kremlin to Vnukovo, with a station in Ramenki, in a specially created in case of government evacuation underground city. In one of the basements, curious fans of the Main Building found a map screwed to the wall, with underground car tunnels depicted on it, including one of the roads that duplicates the garden ring. Exit grand highways were marked on Michurinsky Prospekt, near the Belorussky railway station and in a number of other places. In addition, it has long been known that the fountains located near the Main Building are air intakes for ventilation of buildings, through which you can climb the ventilation shafts of all buildings, making stops over the auditoriums and dining room.
