Monument to Peter and Fevronia Muromsky

ooh Red Army, 1, Murom, Vladimir region, Russia

Description:

The monument to Peter and Fevronia Muromsky, erected in 2008, is the first monument erected in honor of these saints in Russia. It is located next to the Holy Trinity Women's Monastery, where the relics of the holy princes are kept.

The monument was created by the artist Vladimir Surovtsev for personal money and is a two-meter bronze architectural composition standing on a granite pedestal, depicting the princes holding hands - Peter, with a distant look, and Fevronia, looking tenderly at her husband.

Also in Murom near the Transfiguration Monastery, where Prince Peter died, you can see a bas-relief dedicated to Peter and Fevronia.
