Salt Lake
town of Nakhodka, Primorsky Krai
Description:
When the lake appeared in the city, many do not know for sure, but the history of its creation is very sad. Initially, it was conceived as a reservoir of a local city park, next to which they wanted to build a huge stadium for 25 thousand fans. But this idea remained only on paper. Locals remember how all the sewage of the city merged into a pond. The smell of faeces was felt for miles. The lake was considered a sewage ditch. All sorts of garbage was thrown into it. There were even spots of fuel oil, which merged with the boiler house standing on the shore of the Salt. The shores were swampy.
But at one point, the local government grabbed its head and decided to bring the lake to God’s view. Tons of garbage were removed from the reservoir, water was passed through several filters, fish were launched. Near the lake made footpaths, paths for riding bicycles and rollers, built dance floors. Every year there are New Year celebrations on the coast.
