Defence Museum of Elbrus

361605, Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, Elbrussky district, Terskol, Art. "Peace" of the cable car and pendulum on Elbrus

About the company:

The Museum “Defense of Elbrus” is the highest museum in the world (3500 m above sea level). In Elbrus, the highest front of the Second World War was held. The mountain passes of Elbrus were the closest routes to Transcaucasia, which the Nazis planned to capture.

Hence the extreme tension in the battles for the passes, which was reflected in the exposition of the museum through documentary materials and not only. The very location of the museum at such a height and on the place where the fighting took place, acts very emotionally on visitors. Every year during the summer snow melt, archaeologists find new exhibits that also delight visitors. The tour covers not only the exposition of the museum, but also continues outside it - against the background of the mountain panorama.
